Mmmm Hmmmm

Oh April....came and went so fast, time I swear is just flying!!!

This month has slowed a bit at work, I have been getting off at a normal time and working every other Saturday. I have many projects completed and designed, just waiting to close on them. My first sale (bathroom remodel) is just about complete and I cannot wait to get pictures up of the remodel. It has been a great learning experience and as much as it was stressful, it will be just as rewarding.

I have been able to enjoy my weekends with some great people and I must say that the time I have been able to just sit back and just let go has been a much needed moment to clear my head and relax. I have not done any sessions this month is my photography, but I am itching bad to get my camera out. I am thinking of possibly doing a group session with some of my girlies out on the town as a fun girls date. How fun would it be to have a day with my girls getting all dolled up going out on the town looking pretty and getting some bad a** pictures taken at the same time? :o) I am also thinking of going hiking somewhere one of these weekends and getting some great landscapes.

Honestly, as I sit back and reflect (as I do often) I have realized that I am doing EXACTLY what I set out for. I currently have been able to find a job where I can finally live up to the potential kitchen designer I have wanted to be for a long time as well as work on my photography on the side which has been another passion of mine since high school. This is the perfect career scenario for me! I am absolutely thrilled! I can only go up from here, no doubts will I work hard to make these two things give me the financial freedom I desire and the lifestyle I seek. This is one of the biggest challenges I am facing, but its just the beginning :o)

So as I continue on...doing the things I love. Below is a glimpse of my April and how much fun it was :o) Enjoy!

Getting Ready to head to the rapids game
Honestly, probably only watched 10 min of the game

Beckham... :o)

 Washington Park....

The stick...great alternative for opening wine bottles!

Relax, Lounge, have a few drinks!

And to end April with a little fun story involving a Mr. Marley Luckett (Ashley's mom's Doggie whom I love to death!!). We have our play time when I get home from work throwing his toy out in the backyard so he can get some exercise...I couldn't help but post this on facebook, it had me laughing pretty good.

"Playing with Marley resulted in toy stuck in tree due to my mad throwing skills....solution #1-get tennis ball and throw at toy to knock it loose=FAIL, tennis ball is now stuck in tree... Cliffy Cakes comes to visit and thus came Solution #2- throw broom at tennis ball and toy to knock them both loose=FAIL, broom now stuck in tree....Solution #3- Throw another pole looking garden tool at toy, tennis ball, and broom to knock loose=FAIL, gets stuck in tree....Solution #4- hose the tree using the pressure spray=FAIL, lame idea...Solution #5- Softball.....still no luck and now we have a tree that looks completely ridiculous filled with random items hahaha woops!"

Luckily, the items did eventually fall from the tree due to the recent rainfall we had with the exception of the original toy that got stuck. That is still up there :o( John insists on repeating this solution method next time to try and knock the toy loose....to be continued on how this will turn out haha

Cheers to good times!!

Life as we know it....

Not much has changed since my last post, life has continued staying busy with work and I feel good about the transition and am now getting adjusted slowly to everything. As I reflect back, I am confident in my decision to move back to Denver and I am excited about this new opportunity I have created for myself. I am finally now getting some weekends off which is much needed so I fully intend on taking advantage of spending time with those close to me, getting my camera out and shooting some great photography, and of course going on little adventures where work is not on my brain.

At the end of March I was able to get my camera out and take a photo shoot of a great family and their kiddos. I may not be able to do my photography full time, but I will say I greatly enjoy the times I am doing photo shoots and look forward to doing a few more this year. Here is a quick preview in case you havent seen them already:

The weather has just been incredible here in Colorado lately. 70's weather and sunshine is definitely in my favor over cold and snow. This great weather has brought some danger for fires and yes, we have had a big fire already this year which burned approx. 27 homes and 4,140 ancres. These statistics were from day four of fighting the fire with only 45% containment. I am not sure what the final numbers ended up being, but regardless it is still a tragedy for these people who lost their homes due what they say was caused from a prescribed burn by the forest service that happened a few days before the fire broke out. I cannot even imagine the loss and my heart goes out to all of them.

Back onto a brighter note, I already got some hiking in as well at the end of March up in Boulder at
Chautauqua. John had never been hiking and I had never been hiking to Chautauqua so here starts our little adventure. The result: not really sure John will ever go hiking again haha. Myself, I really enjoy hiking however this trail was not for one who is just starting out, poor guy was dripping sweat half way up! he was a good sport though and kept going :o)

Being able to get out and enjoy Colorado on its beautiful sunny days are by far one the best stress relievers I can ask for. I am learning that I need to take a break now and then and just relax when I have an opportunity to do so.

So...at the moment things are definitely looking up and with much patience taking one step at a time, I believe things will fall together how they are meant to.  April is currently challenging me with many aspects in my life and there are days in which I struggle. Though I am proud of how far I have come and who I am as a person, I am not fully happy with where I am yet and how much stress I am having to be faced with at work. This is what I wanted, I knew it was going to be hard work, I knew It was going to be a battle to get through. Its only been a few months and I'm exhausted!!! I am crossing my fingers that things will lighten up and I can actually feel at ease with being able to juggle all the things that I am demanding of myself.

There are a few things in which I need to re-adjust on my priority list, one being that I need to re-connect myself with new friendships and making sure I am leaving time for Me. I need to find a way to feel settled here again and my piggies well...they need a bigger cage haha. They have been through so much with me already, but I love them and I am glad they are around! I am also thankful that my Cliffy Cakes keeps a positive sight on everything through the days where I am just not feeling that vibe :o)

I would like to give a shout out to my friends back in Indiana ~ Miss you all terribly! Hope the weather is treating you all ok and if you are ever running for shelter for a tornado, just think of me hiding with you in a bathtub accompanied by my two guinea pigs! "Meep Meep"

I will be posting pics as soon as I get some of these re-models underway so stay tuned!
