JuiceBox to the Rescue!

Remember as a kid, the most satisfying thing in life was eating an ice cream bar from the ice cream truck playing its little tune down the street or drinking a fruit punch Capri Sun on a hot summer day? It never took much to be satisfied... leaving a smile to show for it afterward. Well, after several weeks of waiting for that little-simple-satisfied feeling, My Juice Box finally came to my rescue!!! Cliffy Cakes came to Indiana to visit me on Sat May 21st :o) WOOT WOOT!

As always, our adventures are never dull when we are together and it immediately started after picking him up from the Louisville Airport. The weather was beautiful and warm however out of nowhere we ran into a wall of water on the highway driving to Jasper. I could not see a damn thing! It only lasted a few minutes and then we were back into the gleaming sun! Phew!

My friend Vicki's husband Steve is in a band called Portersville Junction and they were playing at Yaggi's most of the day. I hadn't seen them perform, but I had heard they were tons of fun. Luckily we made it to Yaggi's in time to catch the last of it. I pretty much sent John into a pack of wolves once we got there. Everyone knew who he was, but he had no idea who any of them were haha. He was welcomed and was in-tangled in many drunken conversations, but he managed to get through it all. They all loved him, of course and were buying him shots left and right!

The next day we had to hit up Evansville. Piggies needed to get checked again...poor guys. We goofed around through out the day and went to the mall. We tried to test drive a few new cars at the Nissan Dealership, but they were closed. It was Sunday. POOP on them!

I seriously think we should buy some of these for the winter!

Neither one of us had been to downtown Evansville so we decided to explore. We ran into the casino downtown which is on a big ferry boat! We didn't gamble but we just went through it to check it out then went to get some grub and root beer floats for lunch.

Unfortunately, I had to work all that next week. However, Cliffy Cakes kept himself busy by sleeping in most of the day so he was only really "alone" for a few hours haha. We had dinner nights together, going out for a couple days and also cooking dinner. He even helped me make banana bread for my work! So glad he didn't slip in any sour patch kids while he was at it! I think the rock-star moment came when we attempted to make these wings from a recipe he enjoyed. This being my first time making wings and him not having a clue how to do it either we bought wings from the store....that we had to cut. That was our first mistake, our second mistake was trying to cut them with the wrong knife. After a couple trips to walmart and getting a better knife, we finally were able to cut these mothers. Great way to get out any frustration if you didn't make yourself frustrated trying to cut through bone! geesh...never ever again! haha....on the bright side, the wings did turn out well.

My relieved face that I finally made it without chopping off my fingers!

That following weekend was memorial weekend, we decided to walk around Huntingburg-ton-ville-town as we like to call it and walked through some pretty interesting stores. Mostly antique stores and little accessory/decorating places. Cliffy thought it would be a good idea if someone lit the antique place on fire just to watch all the old stuff burn. Hmm....haha
That evening the girls night we had set up we decided to invite couples and go to the winery in French Lick for dinner, have some fun go-karting, then play in the casino a bit. The drive to French Lick was beautiful. The wine tasting at the winery was a blast! They had some great sweet wines that I absolutely love and the Italian dinner was great we both had the baked Zitti. Cliffy even bought a bottle of wine to take home with him. So proud of him haha! oh and what to say about the go-karts. That was too much FUN!! I got pinned to the wall a couple times, but I somehow managed to come in 3rd whoo hoo! Not to mention those little cars were fast as hell!

Dont mess with the Juice Box and Frito-Lay! AKA Lunchbox Gangsters...haha we really had to wear these in order to go-kart

The Casino was the same experience I have every time I walk into one....I play, I lose, and I walk away haha! Played $20 and lost $5 and that was it for me. Cliffy I think won about $10! he is swimming in the dough now!

Bringing us to Sunday, it came around fast it seemed. We could not decide that morning to go to Patoka Lake or go to the Murengo Caves. Any guesses to what we decided on? if you guessed the caves...DING DING! 10 points for you! It was an hour drive or so and again, the drive was beautiful getting there other then the dead pooch on the side of the road...made me sad. However, the weather had been keeping up its summer charm so no complaints. When we got there after waiting a few minutes for our tour to start, the cave was cool and very entertaining. I got some great pictures with my camera as well.

Waiting on the deck for our Cave Tour

So...you aren't supposed to touch any of the formations in the cave, but guess who did on the way out??? what! me? of course not! Mr. Cliffy is the one to blame on that one haha!

Did I mention the cemetery next door from the 1800's? check these pics out! we decided to walk around and check it out.

On our way back to Jasper from the caves, we had to stop at the dairy barn. Everyone had been talking about their giant ice cream cones! Cliffy ordered a medium and he couldn't eat it fast enough before it was melting all over haha

I absolutely love that Cliffy and I can go anywhere together wither its at home doing nothing, playing kid like games, taking walks around the neighborhood, or even going to an old cemetery and we can have a great time. To prove this once again, here are some pics of one of our nights lounging around.

And a few more pics around the neighborhood. had a good time walking around during a slight rain spit as well as enjoying some sunsets over the country fields.

A week 1/2 came and went extremely fast. Before I knew it we were on our way to the airport on June 2nd so I could take a flight to Florida and Cliffy to go back home to Denver. I have to say he got the short end of the stick on that one haha.  Even the thought of the beach could not distract me from having to say goodbye again. I wasn't finished with my Juice box yet!

 Our Airport goodbye picture :o(

86 days from now, we are hopefully going to see each other again in Charleston SC! seems like forever away :o(
